Kenichi ISHIGURO is based in Shiga and Izu, Japan. Ishiguro holds a bachelor's degree in Sculpture from Kyoto University of the Arts in Kyoto, Japan, a Master's degree in Contemporary Art and theory from Hiroshima City University in Japan, and a Master's degree in Global Seminar from Kyoto University of the Arts.
Ishiguro creates sculptures and moving images that serve as "nodes" to connect historical subjects, natural resources, and other phenomena rooted in the land. His recent exhibitions include Semi Art Community Project: Boo Gie Woo Gie Art Museum at the Ulsan Museum of Art in South Korea (2023), Aichi Triennale2022 STILLALIVE at the Former Ichinomiya Central Nursing School in Japan (2022), FOOLS GOLD, Solo exhibition at the 3331 Gallery in Tokyo(2022) and Soft Territory at the Shiga Museum of Art in Japan (2021). His work is featured in collections such as the Shiga Museum of Art. Ishiguro has taken part in the Kyoto Art Center Artists-in-Studios program in Kyoto (2022), as well as the AIR3331 in Tokyo (2021) and Tsushima Art Fantasia in Nagasaki (2021) residence programs.
In 2014, Ishiguro co-founded the artists' organization Yamanaka Suplex, located on the border of Kyoto and Shiga.
